About

LMNHealth’s mission is to provide a safe, welcoming and affordable space for holistic healthcare. Naturopathy uses the healing power of nature to treat illness and promote wellness of the whole body, working with the body’s own innate abilities to heal. Everyone is welcome at LMNHealth to participate in individual consults, group workshops and being part of our online community.

Our goal is to help people learn and grow on their journey to good health and graceful ageing. That is why we have a strong focus on the process of ageing, age related care and problems that we face as we transition through the various stages of life.

We strongly believe that health care should be accessible to all people. At LMNHealth we strive to create a safe any welcoming place for all people, regardless of background, beliefs, or ability. We endeavour to be a neuro, gender and identity affirming space.

At LMNHealth we believe that cost should not be a barrier to accessing good health care. This is why we offers discounts (concessions) for those who may not otherwise be able to afford such services.

Lauren Martin Natural Health also offers both content and consultations in Auslan and English. We believe that all people should be able to access health care and strive to make ourselves as user friendly as possible.

About Lauren Martin

My name is Lauren Martin, I run LMNHealth and offer natural healthcare to all ages and walks of life. I have a special interest in neurodiversity, chronic health conditions and geriatric care or ageing well.

I graduated from Endeavour college of Natural Health with a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) in 2017. Later I completed a Bachelor of Theology through Charles Sturt University (2020). After finishing my university studies I was able to resume my study of Auslan with Deaf Connect.
I have completed Diploma of Auslan with the goal of continuing my language studies with a Diploma of Interpreting.

I am passionate about looking after the whole body (body, mind and spirit) in a non-judgmental manner. Everyone has a physical body that needs to be cared for, as it supports us through life. Similarly, we all have a mind, and a soul. All these various parts of ourselves interact with each other in complex and dynamic ways. In order to achieve good health, we must care for each of these aspects of our selves, that form our entire being.

I am also concerned about offering affordable and accessible healthcare. From my own studies and experiences, I came to understand that naturopathy can benefit many people, but price, unfortunately is a significant barrier. I have endeavoured to find a way to offer affordable health care to people in need. I recognise that mobility, particularly as we age, can be a significant barrier to accessing natural healthcare. I am open to offering house calls (assessed on an individual basis), for those who are housebound. I have a strong interest in providing access for people who use Auslan to receive the benefits of natural healthcare. My experience and studies in Auslan have led me to complete a Diploma of Auslan. My goal is to interpret many different situations including medical and religious settings.

I believe that the phrase ‘body, mind and spirit’ is an important part to holistic healthcare. We all have a body, a mind and spirit that requires care and attention. I welcome anyone seeking access to natural healthcare, regardless of spiritual background or social standing. I support people with a diverse range of beliefs and life experiences.

About Naturopathy

Naturopathy is based on the traditional western healing traditions of Europe. Today naturopathy is a blend of both traditional practices and modern scientific knowledge.

Naturopathy looks at caring for the whole person, using a holistic patient (person) centred focus. It uses a blend of scientific and traditional knowledge to recommend lifestyle and dietary changes, as well as nutritional or herbal supplementation.

Naturopathy is a term that covers a wide range of elements from diet, nutrition, herbs, iridology, meditation and flower essences to help restore an individual to their natural balanced state. It factors in the effects of our body (e.g. physical symptoms), mind (e.g. mental and emotional state) and spirit.

In a naturopathic consultation you can expect to be asked lots of questions about why you are seeking assistance (presenting complaint), and other more general aspects of your health. These consults tend to be longer and more in depth than compared to a standard visit to the GP.

Initial consultations generally take 1 hour to 1.5 hours. This longer consultation helps us to discover where you are on your health journey. We look at your presenting complaint (why you have sought out health advice) and what your health is like in general. This can help us to identify underlying symptoms and how best to support you physically, emotionally and spiritually. Return (or follow up) consultations generally last between 30 minutes to 60 minutes, where we review how your progress, including any changes and/or new symptoms.

Consultations may end with lifestyle and dietary advice, herbal or nutritional supplements or recommendations for further testing (e.g. blood tests). At the conclusion of the consultation, a short-term and long-term treatment plan will also be developed. This plan will then be reviewed in return consultations, and modified where appropriate. Treatment plans are designed to help both the practitioner and the patient to articulate and work towards the same goals. At LMNHealth our goal is to be patient centred, working with the needs and requirements of the patient, as reflected in the development of your individual treatment plan.

Doctor as Teacher

We support, educate and help facilitate each individual in their health journey.
